Heavy duty metal with a smooth black consistent finish. We will see if the self adhesive tape holds up over the long haul. I replaced a screw in unit with this as the old unit failed to hold the toilet paper roll in place consistently. Used this for a week now without issues. Slight alignment issue between the arm and the edge of the base but not noticeable to the naked eye.

It definitely holds the largest toilet paper roll and is easy to get the paper off - unlike some holders that stick or aren't convenient. Picked up this self-adhesive black matte stainless steel toilet paper holder to use as a Hand Towel Holder on the inside of my bathroom cabinet doors. Love the fact that there are no screws used for installation. The only tools you need are a hairdryer, small level and pencil. Read the instructions about why you need a hairdryer. Had it installed in about 10 minutes. It works great. I plan on getting a couple more to use in our other bathroom and Kitchen cabinets.

Simple instructions very easy to install. No tools required. The box says not suitable for smooth surfaces or limestone walls, wallpaper or painted walls. My bathroom has painted walls and who doesn't have painted walls in their bathroom but I thought maybe the spot where it needs to stick to needs a little rough spot from sandpaper but I went without doing that and it didn't matter. Held it for 30-60 seconds and that was it.

Small but perfect for a very simple and clean look. Very easy to install, only requires peeling the backing off the 3M tape on the back and push on to the surface where you want it! So simple and so far it is still sticking to the wall! For the price this is a very nice, metal toilet paper holder, perfect for a small spaces. I would definitely recommend!

Nice elegant black matte toilet paper holder but that is about as far as it goes it has detailed instructions the problem with that is it list smooth flat and slightly rough surfaces such as tiles, glass, mirrors, lacquered, wood and stainless steel but I have sheets rock walls I did the heating up on walls and pad just didn't work definitely not what I expected I think I will drill hole and install it that way I am going to think about that before I do it I have to say unless you have walls like they suggested I bet it would work great but for me well we will leave it definitely not going in guests room

The best advice for this particular holder is to make sure the surface is as clean as possible and very smooth. Having holes where I put it was not an option, so the adhesive product was my choice. I tried a spot on the wall, but didn't have much luck. After deciding to attach it to the side of the sink cabinet, I cleaned the area first with glass cleaner then with denatured alcohol. Then heated the 3M tape and cabinet with a hair drier. Also, make sure the side with the paper roll stop is pointing up. Otherwise the roll will fall off of the end of the holder. 3M recommends that if you ever need to remove this holder, heat it with a heat gun to soften the tape, rotate and pull at the same time to remove it. The glue residue can be cleaned off with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone.

I got the matte black version EMPV-BAS06. It has 3M double sided adhesive tape already applied to back; just peel the backing and stick to your non-porous surface. Holds tight as long as you're adhering it to a clean surface. No mechanisms involved; just put toilet paper roll on and use. Contemporary design and simple, easy to clean finish. The box claims it's 304 SS but as a mechanical engineer, I don't think it has the weight; seems more like die-cast zinc.

I am very satisfied with how well it integrates into my current bathroom layout.
